Matt's great moments in academia: Tonight I went to an event about Selma Movie with a panel of speakers. Went to dad's friend's holiday party. Had quite a bit of champagne (for the first time). Dad's friend introduced me to his brother, who was an anthropology teacher for 35 years. Talked to him and will be collaborating with him on a Black American/African project soon. Got thoroughly drunk. Not a bad way to survive holidays with the family.

There is some kind of fierce and terrible rain going on outside. Stronger than I've seen in some time.
